Setting yourself up for success
Here are some things I have been working on with some of my clients. Let me know what works and what doesn't.
- Decide what success means for you.
- Lean into your strengths instead of trying to improve things you find impossible.
- Get help to do the other things e.g. buddy up with people who can do those things or get some grant funding from Access to work for support.
- Create the best conditions for whatever you are doing, be comfortable, eat, drink water, play music, block out noise. Try different things to see what works.
- Body double - work at the same time as someone else, either in person or on a call. Helpful to keep you on track.
- Use timers to get you started or to stop your hyperfocus and remind you to eat, drink, pee, go somewhere etc.
- Make a list and write down all of the errant thoughts rather than follow them straight away.
Which of these would you like more information about?
