The Power of Cognitive Diversity in Complex Systems

In a world of constant change, diverse thinking is key to solving complex problems. This talk explores why cognitive diversity helps teams adapt, innovate, and make better decisions. We’ll look at the benefits, common challenges, and practical ways to create an environment where different perspectives thrive. Attendees will leave with simple strategies to build stronger, more effective teams.

From Burnout to Balance: Supporting Teams to Thrive, Not Just Survive

Burnout isn’t just an individual issue—it’s a team challenge that impacts collaboration, morale, and long-term success. In fast-paced agile environments, the pressure to deliver can lead to exhaustion, disengagement, and reduced effectiveness. This session explores how to recognise burnout early, foster psychological safety, and implement practical strategies to balance productivity with well-being. Attendees will leave with actionable techniques to help their teams not just survive but thrive, creating a culture of sustainable high performance.

The things I go back to when working with new teams

We bring together a group of people to achieve an outcome. They have different expertise and experience. We need expertise from domain specialists, people who know about the thing the service relates to as well as experts in building digital services.

This session is a run through of my go to techniques to influence and inspire those people joining a team of experienced product, design, service, digital, agile (call them what you will) people to help the entire team be successful.

Change and Neurodivergence: Harnessing Strengths While Supporting Challenges

In this talk, we will be discussing the importance of embracing neurodiversity in change environments and how it can benefit both the individual and the organisation. We will explore the strengths and perspectives that neurodivergent team members bring to the table, and how their inclusion can lead to increased creativity, problem-solving, and innovation.
However, we will also address the challenges that neurodivergent individuals may face in a traditional work environment and how organisations can create a more inclusive and supportive culture. By understanding and valuing neurodiversity, we can create a more diverse and successful team dynamic.
“Neurodiversity” is a word used to explain the unique ways all people’s brains work.
